BitHistory recently rescued this NEC Color APC-H03P. The Advanced Personal Computer (APC) was as series of microcomputers relased outside of Japan by NEC. In the series, there was an APC, APC II, and APC III.
The APC was released in 1982 and used a NEC 8086 PCU. It had 128K of RAM which was expandable to 256K. The system features one or two built-in 8″ Floppy drives, which was an odd choice for PCs. You had your choice of CP/M or MS-DOS for an operating system.
This system appears to be brand new, and was only recently taken out of the box for a quick test. Ours is serial number 79. We’ll get this un-boxed and get some more pictures of it soon!
