Rescue: Original Apple II – REV0
BitHistory recently attended an Estate Sale where we found a very nice original Apple II REV0 system which we purchased. This is one of the earliest original Apple II’s we’ve seen, with a very low four-digit (19xx) serial number, and is now the oldest original Apple II in our collection. The Apple II. Conceived and developed by the iconic duo of Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, the Apple II, first released in April 1977, remains a symbol of innovation, creativity, and the birth of the modern computing era. Gift: Heathkit H8 and H9 System!
We were happy to receive this amazing gift from our friends at the Wisconsin Computer Club. This is Heathkit H8 microcomputer that was sold in kit from starting in 1977. It features an Intel 8080A CPU and typically ran CP/M. This lot also includes the H9 display terminal, a Heathkit H14 printer, and a bunch of manuals and software on cassette we will review and archive if necessary. We are happy to give this system a great home and look forward to getting it up and running!
Rescue: Commodore PET 2001-8!
We were very lucky to have found this beautiful Commodore PET 2001-8 system available for sale in the Wisconsin area — about 20 minutes from us! This is a beautiful system which appears to be working just fine except for a few sticky keys. The system included a set of user manuals and some cassette tapes. The Commodore PET 2001 was released in 1977 and was available as either a 4K or 8K machine. Ours is 8K. Approximately 219,000 units were sold until 1982 when they were discontinued. This system […]
Rescue: DECWriter III’s, TI Omni 800’s, and more.
Recent rescue this last weekend. We picked up 12x DECWRITER III LS120 and 10x Texas Instruments Omni 800 Model 820 KSR Teletypes. Also included in the lot were 2x DEC LA75 Companion printers, a LA424 MultiPrinter, and a bunch of NOS spare print heads, manuals, and ribbons. We are looking forward to getting these tested, and using a few of these on future exhibits.
